Taylor Swift covers the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia. I LOVE the photo shoot. Swifty isn’t what I would consider “high fashion” – that’s never going to be her look. But when you put her in beautiful, mature clothes and do something with her hair, she is a stunning young woman. What I love about her editorial look is that she’s not downmarket, like, say, Blake Lively. You can put Blake in beautiful clothes and you can do her hair, but in editorials, she looks like what she is – a very pretty mall girl. Swifty actually manages to look very elegant, expensive, high-quality. If she put more time, money and effort into her “look” as an artist, she would be one of the most interesting young women to watch.
Not that I have some huge issue with her sundresses and cat-print blouses. They’re fine. For now. That’s another thing I do appreciate with Swifty – she’s experimenting with her styles – like most young women – but unlike most women, she’s doing it all in public, and she does it with grace. And she manages to avoid the whole “I’m pulling a Madonna, I’m a sex symbol” phase. That being said, you know how I feel about the whole “Grown Woman Selling Her Fake-Virginity” as a media strategy thing.
Speaking of…there’s some interesting news about a potential new boyfriend for Swifty – none other than Tim Tebow! Over the weekend, there was some buzz about a WME pre-Oscar party in which Swifty and Tebow (who just signed on to WME) were spotted getting very friendly. Celebuzz’s source claimed that Swifty “spent most of her evening” talking to the QB, and “They were together for almost an hour. She approached Tim and he looked more than happy to be talking with her.” That’s not all – some sources are claiming that Swifty and Tebow were spotted out on a dinner date on Monday night in LA. Honestly, I do not hate the idea of the super-Christian QB and the girlish country singer becoming a couple. Swifty usually has such horrible taste in men – maybe Tebow will break the cycle.

Frankly, I’m not surprised they were spotted together. However, my ears will bleed when she writes some childish “hate” song about Tebow in the future (which you KNOW she will). He’s comes off as really naive about dating, being a famous virgin and all that.

Who isn’t dating Tim Tebow?
Tebow is a virgin because of his religious beliefs and will never date a girl with a past. It’s as simple as that.
aaaaaaaaaactually, no, he just wouldn’t sleep with the girl with the past until he married the girl with the past (speaking from experience — not with Tebow, obviously, but with a conservative christian guy with NO past who fell in love with a girl with a past and happily married her — just didn’t sleep with her until the “I do’s.”). It’s all about “redemption.”
Actually, no.
Christianity is about redemption. If the woman has a past, but has moved away from that, it’s fine.
That also applies to men, of course. I have an enormous amount of respect for Tebow. He’s actually upholding his end of the bargain.
I meet a lot of men – of all religious persuasions and none – who demand that every woman they date sleep with them or they walk. They then start whining about the lack of virgins/”virtuous” women to marry.
*shakes head*
Just to add to what has already been pointed out by heatheradair and Lis, I don’t see Taylor Swift as having some scandalous past anyway. She dated two or three celebrities that most think she was bearding for (so chances are she didn’t/barely had sex with them), and then had some type of brief relationship with John Mayer, which gross, but hardly anything to clutch your pearls over.
Plus, Jesus himself fraternized with women of much “lower regard”… I think Tebow has no problem dating or being with someone who might have had,‘gasp’, a past.

She actually looks great here, and her and tebow make infinitely more sense than tebow and anyone else famous. Twee, but reasonable.
Pet peeve though: why do you have to bring up Blake lively in all sorts of posts that have absolutely nothing to do with her? You mentioned her in the ewan post too. This is getting almost as bad as Lainey’s obsession…

I agree, I don’t get the talented and beautiful part either and it has nothing to do with whining. She has mass appeal since she is singing about heartbreak and such (most teenagers thrive on that stuff). Overrated but incredibly popular. Things could be worse though, remember when teenagers were hanging upside down from trees like cocoons and mimicking Marilyn Manson?
I believe his image is pr driven. I believe they are shopping around for Hollywood girl for him to date because he is fake. Why not date a nice christian girl from his church or any church if he is a true christian. Why do this girl have to come from Hollywood.

Now Tim and Taylor I can totally see and think that they are probably at the same sexual speed. Its probably really hard to find someone who mirrors who has similar values in their world of fame and celebrity. I think its a nice match and totally believable.
Lately, I’ve seriously been viewing Taylor Swift as a young Nicole Kidman. She has the same ethereal yet icy and classy beauty. Her public persona could not be more different, but her looks? She’s a gorgeous woman, no matter how annoying she is (to me).
The comparison to Nicole is one I hadn’t thought of but I do think it’s accurate.
Some of her fashion is questionable to me but she is always attractive, IMO. These photos and these clothes make her look amazing.

I don’t believe this at all. Tim Tebow strikes me as the kind of guy that will go into a corner and cry if he brushes up against a girl. That guy just screams asexual. Why anyone would want to be linked to him is beyond me.
